SIAFL Player Code of Conduct

  1.         In the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship I promise to abide by the rules of football, commit myself to my teammates and conduct myself in a chivalrous manner for the glory of football and my team.



    Every player is expected to:


    • Learn and respect the rules of soccer, team guidelines, and the rules of SIAFL and abide by them at all times.
    • Show respect and courtesy to officials and coaches by following their instructions and directions.
    • Respect the game officials and refrain from addressing them or commenting on their decisions during or after the game.
    • Maintain control of his/her emotions, and not retaliate; avoiding the use of abusive or profane language, taunting or humiliating remarks, and/or gestures and physical assault upon another player at any time even if it is believed that the player has been wronged.
    • Respect the coaches and players of the opposing team and display sportsmanship at the conclusion of a game. Be humble and generous in victory and proud and courteous in defeat. Remember that soccer is a game; treat players and coaches on other teams as opponents, not enemies.
    • Work for the good of the team and give their best efforts at all times.

    Infractions:


    • Attempting to injure game or team official.
    • Striking or applying physical force to game official.
    • Detrimental behavior.
    • Persisting in unsportsmanlike conduct.
    • Obscene, profane, abusive language.
    • Obscene gesture.
    • Persisting in player misconduct after being assessed a penalty for the same or similar conduct.
    • Attempting to injure opponent.
    • Deliberate injury of opponent.
    • Willful, intentional, or grossly irresponsible acts which result in damage to a public or private property being used in association with any SIAFL game.
    • Use of illegal drugs.
    • Gross insubordination or disrespectful actions to League or Association officials or coaches or to officials and coaches from opposing teams and associations.
    • Attempting to injure anyone.

    Any violations of the above listed Infractions by players, coaches, or members shall result in immediate suspension from SIAFL competition. The length of suspension shall be judged by the Executive Committee on a case by case basis.

    SIAFL was founded to give expats a fair and competitive structure to play football in Shenzhen. Above all, enjoy yourself and bring glory to football, to yourself and to your team.
